In pride of place in this room, and arguably some of the most important pieces in the Anglesey Collection, are two paintings by Claude Lorraine (1600 - 1682). The Father of Psyche sacrificing at the Temple of Apollo (1663) and The Landing of Aeneas (1675). They were purchased by the First Lord Fairhaven at a sale of, H.R.H the Duchess of Kent in 1947.

  • Red lacquer furniture, Chinese, Ming period
  • In display case: a collection of carved oriental hardstone miniatures, including
    • Jade
    • Quartz amethyst, and
    • Cornelian
  • Steinway grand piano, New York and Hamburg 1906. Painted and inlaid case decorated by Cottier of New York.
  • Marble 'Amorino' statue by Canova.
