Back to the start of the tour 20 - The DellBack to the Dell

The South Glade

To the left of the Dell is an area of lawn that stretches from the front drive, across in front of the house, and on to the back drive. This is called the South Glade.

The broad stretch of close mown lawn, typical of Anglesey Abbey highlights, as a series of hummocks, the remains of outbuildings and fishponds, reflecting the simpler life of times' past. There is another dell to the left side of the South Glade, which also houses part of the extensive snowdrop collection.
