The Emperor's Walk

A path leads between Warrior's Walk and Emperor's Walk at both ends and both walks are created within the same Spruce plantation.

Emperor's Walk is named after the twelve busts of Roman Emperors which, standing on their own pedestals; line the western side of the walk. The Spruce trees have been allowed to grow around the statues so that the line cannot be seen in its entirety and you come across the statues as you proceed along the walk.

The Gladeway, a wide stretch of grass bounded by Beech hedging, bisects the two walks in the middle, with at one end the Copper Beech Circle, with its four lead figures. In the centre, an open temple, with a large, shallow, bowl of Egyptian Porphyry, thought to be Roman in origin.

At the opposite end to the Circle is an entrance to The Arboretum.
